Victory
This photo was taken when I reached the top of Montjuic. Virginia, Sarah, Melissa, Matt, and myself rode up the mountain on our rented bicycles. The ride up the mountain (plus the three stops to rest along the way) was very tough but very rewarding. When we got to the top of the mountain, we encountered this statue with dancing people (maybe a sign of joy that we reached the top). I took a picture with them and you can see from the picture how proud I was of myself. It was a sense of accomplishment that I rode the bicycle that far and that high up a mountain. As many times as I wanted to give up and go back down the mountain, I didn't. I never gave up and that feeling I got when I reached the top of the mountain was worth it. After many pictures were taken next to this statue, not only did we get a great view of our site, but we got an overall view of the rest of the city. Standing at the top of the mountain and looking down on the entire city made me realize how big this world really is. There are so many people in the world and so many different things going on. Getting to the top of the mountain was a great experience for me. It may even be my favorite experience so far since I have been in Barcelona. The ride down the mountain on the bike was also worth the sweat and tears on the way up.
