Doorways: a means of getting from one place to another. When I first came to Spain and started my travels I begin to realize there are many different types of doorways. Since then I have been collecting pictures. One of my fascinations in Europe has been roman arches. They are symbolic doorways that represent entrance to another culture. There are also doorways that lead to nowhere and some that lead to more options. On my recent travels to Amsterdam, I discovered this doorway that restricts people from entering a dock. I thought the circle was an interesting way to create a freestanding doorway that completely cuts off passersby, but does not cut off their view from the destination.
