This past week in Amsterdam I was amazed when I walked past a house boat that had a low growing rooftop garden all the way across the top of it. It was kind of funny given the color of the house boat and how it really took away from the historical architecture of the area and city. While in Amsterdam there were many places and boats that had some kind of gardens on top of them. I love how much the Dutch value the landscape and flowers in general. The highlight of the trip to Amsterdam as far as landscape was the beautiful network of canals in the city. I had no idea that Amsterdam is considered the Venice of the North.
