City of Farts and Sciences

With this sketch study, I started to look at the layout of the Calatrava's City of Arts and Sciences and how his structures related to each other as well as to their own structural systems. What I noticed primarily was his use of buildings as objects versus buildings as systems that could be repeated infinitely. Both L'Hemisferic and the Reina Sofia Center were just objects placed on a landscape, impossible to look at in small sections or pattern. The science center, on the other hand, was a repetition of angled members with a membranous shell on the outside.
