Edible architecture

We model with chipboard, cardboard, plastics, maybe some metals or foils or even glass if we want to splurge. Why not model with something else? We visited the El Croquis model gallery and saw that you can pretty much make a model out of anything. Well I think that it would fun if Clemson architecture did an architecture gingerbread house competition. It could be a model you designed, or maybe a recreation of a famous building...or a building on campus. Anything would be fun...maybe each level of architecture would have a different style of architecture they had to recreate. Anyways...rules aside, the gingerbread houses could be auctioned off to raise money for something, kind of like the art department does with the pottery made during the semester. I just think we have all these modeling skills that we use on our project models that are later used for...well...nothing. Whereas if we spent time making a gingerbread model it would not only be edible but a heck of a lot more fun. Its just an idea...but I think it would be really fun.
