keep rollin', rollin', rollin'...

It seems like no matter what you do, there's always more work to do. One of the things that we're working on (and have been working on for half the semester) is datascaping. Making diagrams and maps about the city of Barcelona and our site. We've finally gotten to a part of the project that kind of resembles designing anything (in the way if you squint your eyes, turn your head to the side and look at it out the corner of your eye) and we're not allowed to design. We're supposed to come up with a masterplan, but we're not allowed to design. That's seems like a conundrum to me...we're architecture students; we've been programmed to design by all the professors we've had in the last three years, whether it be Lee, Jacques, Mills, Hogan, Silance or Verderber. It seems like were working backwards through our education, back to ARCH 101. I understand that research is a very vital part of design, but to restrict students from designing anything for over half a semester? That just doesn't make sense to me.
